‘Quiet people have the loudest minds’ R.I.P Stephen Hawkins

Even though defying the odds of living with a degenerative disability was an inspiration, Stephen Hawking was known for his ground-breaking work as a physicist first and foremost. His physical challenges not withstanding, Prof Hawking was the celebrity face of modern physics. A torchbearer for logic, reason and scientific temper, the professor left an indelible mark on our society.

“Why does the Universe exist? If we find the answer to that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason – for then we would know the mind of God” Quote from Stephen Hawking book A Brief History of Time

Stephen Hawking was born January 8, 1942, on the 300th anniversary of Galileo’s death. He died March 14th, on the anniversary of Einstein’s birth. Time is circular – no beginning, no end.

“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet.Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.” Dr Stephen Hawking

A brilliant mind and an extraordinary man who has been an inspiration to all of us.
